MORE THAN €30,000 has been raised to help bring home the body of an Irish man who died in Thailand.
The young man, who died in a tragic drowning incident on the island of Koh Samui, a popular tourist destination, has been named locally as David Houlihan from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

An online fundraising campaign to help repatriate his body has received the support of over 1,000 people with €30,826 having been raised by this evening.
The fundraiser has now been closed with a message on the website indicating the gratitude expressed by the Houlihan family.
“The Houilhan family have asked me to thank everyone on their behalf.
“We have raised more than enough to cover all costs and the excess will be donated to the Kevin Bell Foundation.
“Many thanks to everyone who has supported this fund page.”
The appeal was aided by the support of several high-profile GAA stars.
A member of the Dungarvan GAA club, David Houlihan was part of their senior hurling squad that reached the 2012 Waterford county final against De La Salle.
